Hospice is provided for people with terminal illness. In general, hospice is 100% covered for eligible patients by Medicare, Medicaid or other private insurance policies. In collaboration with your physician, First State will work with you to determine eligibility.
For Medicare, general guidelines for eligibility include:
- Documented life-limiting prognosis by a certified physician(s)
- The patient elects to receive comfort (palliative) care.
